In this class students will make a gourd featuring one of Carol Signore’s most popular techniques, a special hi-gloss finish she calls "Mosaic Glaze". This is a brilliant and silky treatment of the gourd's surface that combines 5 separate layers of artistry: paint, ink dye, pigment powder, and a high gloss sealer. These multimedia ingredients often evoke one of the southwest’s most beloved scenes: a shimmering desert sunset.
