Students will mark Dias de Los Muertos or Day of the Dead, the famous Mexican celebration of departed loved ones by making an iconic Gourd Sugar Skull. Bottle gourds make a wonderful skeletal facsimile of the human skull. Each student will receive a medium-large bottle gourd and explore original ways to use colorful designs and traditional Dias De Los Muertos symbols to decorate their gourd.
