This is the artist's first mask using a warty gourd. Warty gourds have a very hard, nubby, almost beaded surface.  This characteristic gives Tribal Princess her deep reddish brown skin and a luminescence that needs no accessorizing.   Her features are hand carved out and very simple. The headdress she wears is the chief focal point instead, in both size, and color. The bold bright colors mix in an irridescent way reminiscent of an Arizona sun set. Tribal Princess is  an amazing and unique fine art mask.
